Dr. Daniel Sette Camara is a graduate from the Federal University of Rio dejaniero, Brazil (December of 1973).  Following graduation from medical school, he did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine in Charleston, South Carolina (Medical University of South Carolina) and Boston University (Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham, Massachusetts).  In 1977 he came to Buffalo, New York and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the State University of New York in Buffalo.  Except for two years in 1985-1987 that he spent in Chicago at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center, he has been in Buffalo since 1977.  From 1985-1993 he was Director of GI Services at The Buffalo General Hospital as a member of the GI Faculty of Upstate University New York at Buffalo.  At the time he was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine and moved to Chicago.  Then he kept his title of Associate Professor until he left in 1993 when he became a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, a title that he retains until today.  In 1993 he joined Dr. Ramesh Luther and formed the gastroenterology group, Digestive Health Physicians.

Dr. Camara is a graduate of The American Board of Internal Medicine (1978) and Gastroenterology (1979).  He is a  fellow of multiple GI societies to include American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and Fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  Over the years, Dr. Camara has had and interest in disorders of the esophagus.  More recently, over the past five years, he has a special interest in the treatment of Barrett’s esophagus.

Ramesh Luther, MD
Ramesh Luther, MDRamesh Luther, M.D., FACP, AGAF, FASGE, FACG is a graduate of H.P. Medical College, Simla, India.

After graduating from medical school in 1972 he worked for one and one half years as a resident in New Delhi, India. In 1973 Dr. Luther moved to the United Kingdom where he worked in the capacity of Senior House Officer to the Registrar in Internal Medicine gaining experience in the hospital setting.  In 1979 he moved to Buffalo, New York where he completed his Internal Medicine training again at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York from 1979-1982.  He was chief resident from July 1981 through June1982 for a period of one year. Following this Dr. Luther did a GI Fellowship at the University of Buffalo, funded by the National Institute of Health and SUNY of Buffalo for three years. 

Dr. Luther is an attending physician with Catholic Health Systems at Sisters of Charity Hospital, Main Street Campus as well as St. Joseph Campus.  Dr. Luther has been in practice at the St. Joseph campus since 1985, where he is presently the director of the GI lab.  

During this time Dr. Luther has brought many first time procedures to the city of Buffalo which includes, PEGS, esophageal stent placement, permanent metal stent placement in the bile ducts and cholangioscopy.  He was the first physician to perform an ERCP in a patient with Billroth II surgery, Roux-E-Y surgery and Biliary Manometry.  Also Dr. Luther was the first to use argon coagulation for removal of benign and malignant polyps as well as the treatment of Arteriovenous malformations.

Since 1993 Dr. Luther has served on the medical executive committee, at Sisters Hospital Main Campus and was president of the medical staff at both hospitals as well.  He has also served on the board of directors both acute care board and the parent board from 1993 to 2012.

Dr. Luther has expertise in GI disorders and is very much involved doing colonoscopies with the removal of large polyps, upper endoscopies, and has a special interest in doing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography[ERCP] for treatment of gall bladder, liver and pancreatic disease.

Dr. Luther participates with most insurance companies locally.
Abha Rani, MD
Abha Rani, MDDr. Abha Rani has joined the practice of Digestive Health Physicians, PC as an attending gastroenterologist based at 2625 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga.  She worked as an Assistant Professor in UB's division of Gastroenterology from 2004-2014, where she seved as the Associate and Program Director of the fellowship-training program.  She completed fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at University at Buffalo.

She comes with extensive clinical and research experience.  She evaluates and treats all general gastrointestinal diseases related to the esophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon.  She is proficient in all diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic gastrointestinal procedures.  She offers preventative sevices (e.g., screening colonoscopies) at Sisters Hospital and St Joseph campus.  In addition, she also treats liver diseases.

She is especially interested in women's health and has published many articles on this issue.  She has a unique background of training as an obstetrician-gynecologist in India and UK.  She has also participated in various quality improvement projects, assessing and documenting the quality of care provided at health care facilities and strives to provide the highest quality of patient care in a safe and efficient environment.
Debra Blair, PA
Debra Blair, PADebra graduated as a Physician’s Assistant from Daemen College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.

Debra has been licensed to practice in New York State and has been NCCPA board certified since 1999.  She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Debra has been practicing with Digestive Health Physicians since November 2004. She sees patients in the office as well in consultation in the acute care hospital setting.  Debra also acts as the Study Coordinator for various Research Projects.
Constance Campanella, FNP
Constance Campanella, FNPConstance began her professional career as a registered nurse after graduating from Sisters Hospital Nursing School in 1992. She worked as a staff nurse at Sisters Hospital in a variety of specialties. Constance continued her education at SUNY at Buffalo, obtaining her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Nursing. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 1999.

Constance joined Digestive Health Physicians in 2004 as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She performs in-patient consults at Sisters Hospital daily as well as seeing patients in the office one day a week. Constance has also been involved with a registry study using ablation therapy for the treatment of Barretts esophagus.
